For Teachers and Admins

Teachers have access to numerous features to design and manage a course in Vocareum. These include utilizing multiple lab types, such as the Vocaruem Notebook, JupyterLab, and more, implementing auto-grading, managing enrollments, and visiting students' lab environments to seamlessly aid in their learning experience. This guide will briefly cover the features available to you and help point you to more detailed documentation where needed.

Registration

The first time you are enrolled in a Vocareum course as a Teacher, you will receive an email invitation to join Vocareum. Simply click the link in the email to access the login page. If you haven't received the invite, please go to the login page and enter your email. Then, click "Forgot Password." Once logged in, you'll be asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Vocareum Dashboard

This dashboard will be your landing page when you log in to Vocareum. From it, you can view and navigate to all the courses you are enrolled in as an Instructor.

Course List

On the dashboard, you'll find a list of all your active courses. You can view and organize courses by the following columns:

  1. Course Name

    • Below the course name, you will find direct links to the course's Settings, Dashboard, Assignments, and Class pages.

    • The Reports link provides the course's monthly usage report (.csv format) based on a set month and year.

  2. ID: A numeric identifier for the course

  3. Enrollments: The number of students enrolled in the course.

  4. Start Date and End Date: The first and last days the course is set to be active.

Courses are automatically archived after the end date. Once a course is archived, students can no longer use their lab environments. However, teachers and Admins can still view and edit archived courses by turning on the "Show only archived courses" option located above the course list.
