For Teachers and Admins
Leveraging the power of the Vocareum Notebook, instructors can enable single-click GPU access for their assignments and students.
Prerequisite: Before GPUs can be used in an assignment, GPU resources must first be configured at the Vocareum Organizational level, and then enabled for the Course by an Admin at your institution. Teachers and Admins can reach out to support@vocareum.com for more information.
Enabling GPU Resources
From the Part settings, navigate to Resources. There, you will find the option to Enable GPU Resources.
Once it is enabled, you will be prompted to set a budget for the total number of hours each student can use the GPU-enabled IDE within the assignment. This will apply to all enrolled students using the assignment.
Using GPU Resources
When the GPU Interactive IDE setting is enabled, all compute processes within that assignment will run on GPUs.
While a student is working in their Vocareum Notebook, a GPU icon in the sidebar menu will display their remaining GPU time budget. They can click on the GPU icon to check out the interactive GPU budget panel for more details. The time budget is updated in real time so students will know how much they have used and how much they have left.
If needed, you can extend the time buget for an individual student by visiting the course's Class tab, selecting the assignment and student, then clicking the Budget button for the student's workarea.
