You have your GenAI resources, but now you want to know how to evenly distribute them in a controlled environment for your class. This article will cover step-by-step how to create a Vocareum AI Notebook, and leverage your GenAI resources to empower learners.

Designing a Vocareum Notebook Assignment

Assignment Creation

  1. From your course page select "Edit Assignment" then "New Assignment"

  2. Create a name for the assignment and select your lab type. In this case we've called it "Vocareum Notebook Lab". Press "Save and continue".

  3. Now that your first Part has been created, return to the Assignment settings. Next you will need to enable your GenAI resources for the assignment.

Enabling GenAI Resources in an Assignment

If you have not please visit our article on Bringing GenAI Resources Into Vocareum. This must be complete before you can enable GenAI recourses in an assignment.

  1. From your assignment select 'Part 1' to access your Part Settings

  2. Within the Part Settings, navigate to 'Resources'

  3. Scroll down to the "Generative AI" section. Choose your gen ai key and set the allowed budget per user.

Designing a Vocareum Notebook

  1. Selecting "Configure Workspace" will open the instructor authoring environment. Instructors can upload and test coursework, upload datasets, and release work to learners from here.
